High School Youth Helper
Summary
One of the biggest challenges churches face today is helping our young people stay involved with a church once they graduate from high school and leave for college. Our goal at IBC is to help prepare students for life after high school by creating environments which promote godly relationships and solid bible teaching. We are asking that youth leaders help create environments where high school students can interact, learn biblical principles through engaging bible study and have fun.
PURPOSE
High School Youth Helpers are responsible for assisting the teachers in providing practical Bible teaching on Sundays or Wednesdays.
RESPONSIBILITIES & REquirements
Responsibilities:
Be passionate about teenagers and willing to participate in occasional social activities.
Be committed to serve for at least 6 months(July through December or January through June).
Help teachers to carry out games and activities in the classes.
Arrive 10-15 minutes before class to help the teacher organize their lesson or activity.
Attend IBC worship services regularly.
Help to plan and organize occasional social events with other high school volunteers.
Attend Quarterly youth volunteer meetings.
Requirements:
Church membership is desired but not required to serve in this position. You can become a member of IBC by attending the Discovery Classes which are offered regularly.
Be dependable and reliable
Prior experience teaching youth or serving in a youth ministry is desired but not required.
Set a good Christ like example for students to follow.
Time Commitment:
One year of service (but we would love it if you could do more).
